You've been talking back and forth with Ron and Sally-Anne enough that I suppose you've heard pretty much everything.

I'll tell Mrs Longbottom what happened, too.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry I stole the locket, and I'm sorry it got all wrapped up with Regulus, which is unfair to you and to his memory. I feel awful about that part. I'm not

Look, I know I can get set on things sometimes, but I'm not some mental stalker or something.

He's your brother. You had a lifetime together. I knew him for a few short months, and he was an interesting, sad, bright person who was fascinating to talk to, and didn't treat me like I was silly, and when things went wrong I got dragged down out of my depth. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry and I'd never want to seem like I was trodding all over your memories and your history and making it all about me. Because it isn't.

I'm not quite sure whether I stole it because I wanted to keep it to myself, or because the locket wanted it that way, but if I just let it take responsibility for everything, that's a bit too easy, isn't it? And I think it was just taking things I wanted and was worried about already and just made more of them.

I'm still trying to sort everything out. But I'll do my best to explain if you need to know anything more.

You've got nothing to apologise for.

There appears to be a little more to the story. I've just dragged the whole truth out of Kreacher.

I think you ought to hear it for yourself, though, directly from him. After you all come home.

And there are still a couple questions I think we all have, such as how the locket got from you into Sally-Anne's bag. But we can work that out in time.

The important thing is that you all solved it, together, before you did something you would have regretted forever. You narrowly avoided an act that could have ruined your sense of yourself, and you had friends who helped you recognise the danger.

Ultimately if you can learn from that, that's all that matters.

Well. That and destroying part of Voldemort's soul.
