I know! The owl had to find me up in the library because I left breakfast early.

I thought for sure he'd forgotten all about us and our song. I can't believe it, can you? Wonder what made him decide he was interested after so many months?

It's brilliant, though! I wonder who's going to perform it?

I have no idea! Maybe it's a new group or something.

But it is SO utterly brilliant.

We are going to hear our song on the radio.

And we can get our song on a record.

It's just! So! Oooooh!

I just hope it's someone cool, and that they won't sing it in a rubbishy way. But pretty much all of the bands on Presto are decent, and some are flat-out amazing, so!

I honestly thought when he first heard it

I mean he was very encouraging and nice and all, but I thought that was it, you know? That he'd say, "Oh, nicely done, but no thanks," and maybe, if I was super lucky, I could get a song in that he'd actually like in the next couple of years, and this is just so unexpected and I honestly can't stop smiling!

And I love that it's a song that we worked on together, you know? That we're going to have both our names on it and everything, which is perfect and lovely. It's just... I'm trying to think of words other than brilliant, but I can't, because it is so utterly wonderfully fantastically brilliant!

I wasn't sure what to think back then. Because he hears songs all the time and I'm sure he has NO problem telling people when it's no good or when he isn't interested. But then it did cross my mind that he might be being polite because of his connection to Father.

But it turns out he really DID like it and he was waiting for the right time and possibly the right group and you're right, it really is perfect and brilliant.

We need to write more songs together.

I bet it's the Triwizard Cup happening and everything, because it's written by people from Hogwarts, and there'll be tonnes of people paying attention to us and all.

We ought to celebrate tonight, I think. Have you told anyone yet? We can break the news in the Common Room after dinner and throw a party.

I haven't, no, though Teds has been asking because he saw my reaction when I got the owl.

That's a brilliant idea, though. I'll see if the elves can sort out some food and treats. Oh, and we should bring out guitars!

Should we invite any of the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students, you think?

Definitely. I mean, the Durmstrang people are already going to be there and all, so we wouldn't want Beauxbatons to feel left out!

We could make it a music party, yeah? Have people bring their favourite records, and once things really get going, we could make our announcement.

Whoa, our common room will be more crowded than ever. I'll get Daphs to move the furniture around for a music party, she's good at that sort of thing. She might be able to get some better food, too, even though it's short notice.
